5th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

February 4th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

The Ordinary Time which is our time in the salvation history of the Church gives us the short lessons of our Christian daily lives. Our example for being the good Christian is simply our master Jesus Christ. And we have to understand his mission and his duties; to do the same in our daily lives. Jesus proclaimed the Good News of the Kingdom of God, he healed the physical diseases and spiritual illnesses and first of all he prayed.

The Eucharist is the proclamation of the Gospel, it is the great healing of our illnesses, it is also the communion with Christ and it is first of all the biggest prayer. The Eucharist is the daily life of Christ in the pill and also it is the Christian life in the same pill, but we have to remember that this life is not finish only on the weekly Mass. The Christian life is the daily duties of Christ in the areas of our activity. We have to be the real Christ in our life around us and we have to prove our life simply by the participation in the Eucharist.

4th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

January 28th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

In the ordinary period of our lives we have to remember about the main source and the author of our existence and look more closely on Jesus Christ as our Super Star. We really worship him in the Mass, we praise Him in every our prayer and we see Him doing the marvelous things when we practice the commandment of love in our daily lives. Jesus astonishes us when we will hear Him, because He has the authority and the power above everything – because He is God. He is changing our lives for good when we give Him our own permission to do that.

The Eucharist is the time when we hear the Gospel of Jesus and we participate in the biggest miracle on the world – changing the bread in the body of Christ, and changing the wine in his blood, and after this we go on to our own homes, jobs and rest areas to proclaim the Good News with the authority of the divine teacher.

Reflections

What are some of my evil spots that Jesus needs to heal with his words and deeds?

3rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

January 21st, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

On this Sunday Christ proclaims that we have to repent to enter the Kingdom of God.

And from the other side the Sunday scripture readings are talking about radical discipleship. And by radical discipleship I mean something much more than just following Jesus in a pedestrian sort of way. I mean something much more than only talking about Christ; more doing his holy will.
All of us experience the call of Christ to be his disciples; if we didn’t then not one of us would be here in this Church today. For many of us this call of Christ was mediated through our families and teachers; we were brought up in a believing family and absorbed the faith along with our mother’s milk.
The Eucharist is like the “big charging” of “our inner battery” of Christian life. Here and now we have the explanation of the word of God and we have the tangible food for our spirit – the Holy Communion.

One Main Point

A new world (the Kingdom of God) has arrived. That new world comes in the person of Jesus. We are asked to respond by changing our way of life, and to follow Him.

2nd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

January 13th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

We start once again the Ordinary Time which is the special period when we receive teaching concerning ourselves, because Ordinary Time is our time in the whole History of Salvation. Today we have a call like Andrew and the other disciple, John. We need to recognize and to realize this call as the voice of God who speaks directly to us. We have to go and make disciples for God, make our relatives and friends the company of Jesus Christ – this is the simple task of the Church as a community of believers.

The Eucharist, which we now celebrate is our help: from one side there is the explanation of the word of God and from the other the real meal to help us to do the will of God in our own lives.

John the Baptizer came “so that all might believe through him.” (1:7b) Through him, the first believers came to Christ.

SOLEMNITY OF THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD (THREE KINGS)

January 7th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

Today we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord. This is the Solemnity when God reveals His deity to us and to the whole World.

We see this incredible scene in the picture of three wise men – Magi or Kings who were seek God and they found him in the form of the small baby in the manger in Bethlehem.

This behavior of that three wise men, which in the polish tradition we call them Kacper, Melchior and Baltasar, is very close to every person who wants to find Jesus Christ in his or her own life.

Therefore in the polish tradition we mark the door of our home with their names to remember that every step is for the finding our Lord Jesus Christ on the way through our own lives. (The mark for the door: +K+M+B+2012+)

The Eucharist which we now celebrate is like the bus stop on our way to haven where we see our goal – Jesus Christ and after Holy Mass we try to bring him into effect by the commandment of the love to each of our neighbors.

One Main Point

THE REVELATION OF GOD TO THE WORLD.
The Magi from around the world search for Jesus and pay him homage, while Herod only pretends to do so. At the beginning of the Gospel, these Gentile Astrologers point to the conclusion of the Gospel, when the disciples pay Jesus homage, and Jesus told them to “make disciples of all the Gentiles.” (28:17-20)

Reflections

  1. By what signs do I recognize Jesus? How do I feel when I recognize these signs? Then what do I do?

SOLEMNITY OF THE HOLY FAMILY; SOLEMNITY OF MARY, MOTHER OF GOD; SOLEMNITY OF HUMBLE SHEPHERDS

December 31st, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Holy Family, the Blessed Virgin Mary – Mother of God and also the feast of the Humble Shepherds. The feast of the Holy Family is very meaningful for us today. We see the crisis of the Families today and we need a new power of love for our own Families. This is the reason that the Church offers us the good example of the Holy Family, where the obedience and the love is the priority.

From the other hand the feast of the Humble Shepherds concentrate our caution on our mission – to be the apostles of Jesus Christ our Savior in our modern world.

The Eucharist is like the meeting of the shepherds with the Baby Jesus, His Mother and Joseph. Here and now we get the wisdom of our heavenly Childhood.

THE SOLEMNITY OF THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD – Christmas

December 25th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

Christmas is finally here. During all four weeks of Advent we have been waiting and praying for the coming blessings of Christmas. And Christmas is present here and now, in our Family, in our Church, in our Community and in our hearts.

In this Holy Mass which we now celebrate, Christ two times is born within us: He will be born in the Liturgy of the Word as the everlasting Word of God and he will be born in the Liturgy of the Eucharist as a bread of the life. These two comings of our Lord we celebrate in each Holy Mass, therefore it is the time to understand that THE word CHRISTMAS is the combination of Christ and the Mass, therefore we are here to celebrate the Mass of Christ.

4th SUNDAY OF ADVENT – Peace

December 17th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

This Sunday precedes the Christ birthday as well. We have only one week to welcome Jesus Christ in our midst at Christmas. Today’s gospel gives us the example of Mary – the Mother of God. She is the perfect person prepared by God for his Son. But today we should follow her life in our own daily lives. We have to be the Mothers of Christ for our neighbors. This is the task for us on the coming of our Lord. Mary does not seek her own advancement , but rather places herself at the disposition of God saying that she is God’s handmaid. She answers God’s call with great generosity even though she does not yet fully understand His message.

The Holy Mass is the place where Jesus Christ is born for us on the altar of the Word and on the altar of the Eucharist. We have to be the Mothers of Christ to born – to make disciples of Christ for his Holy Church today.
