Praying for our departed
October 29th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you may not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose, so too will God, Through Jesus, bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
In November we are stirred by the fall season and the weather to think about our relatives and friends who have passed away recently or long ago. This time of the year gives us the opportunity to think about them and also to help them with our prayers. Prayer is the only way in which we connect with them on our world. It is a very special channel which joins us with them by the power of God.
Throughout November the Church prays for all who are in the purifying fires of Purgatory, waiting for the day when they will join the company of the saints in heaven. The celebration of Mass is the highest means the Church can provide for charity for the dead, but we can also relieve their sufferings through our prayers, sufferings and penances.

ASCENSION OF THE LORD – 7th SUNDAY OF EASTER
May 19th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink
Jesus Christ departed the earth and he sent apostles and, after them us – to go and proclaim the Gospel to all people on the earth. Over the twenty centuries the Church grew in number and widened the territory of goodness in the world. Today our Church has the same mission to live more deeply by the Gospel and proclaim it making the new disciples for Christ. Today the success of this mission is upon us.
The Eucharist, which we now celebrate, is the anamnesis – Reminder and Participation in the Ascension of the Lord. We remember this event and at the same time we participate in it. Therefore the message of our Master Jesus Christ is in force to us today too. We are the Disciples of Christ and we have to live in the communion with Jesus in his Church and proclaim His message to all people on the world.

THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD 2nd SUNDAY OF EASTER
April 14th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink
We believe that Christ is risen and alive. What does that faith mean to us today?
Is Jesus so much alive to us that we can meet him personally in prayer, listening and speaking to him as a friend to a friend, heart to heart?
Do we touch his wounds in those wounded in life whether in their bodies or their hearts?
Do we encounter him in our own sorrows?
Do we encounter him in our joys and the joys of our friends?
Is he alive in our Christian community, and do we encounter him there?
Let us pray to the Lord in this Eucharist that he may be real and alive to each and all of us.

PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD’S PASSION
March 31st, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink
For five weeks of Lent we have been preparing, by works of charity and self-sacrifices, for the celebration of our Lord’s paschal mystery. Today we celebrate the Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion the first day of the Holy Week.
On this day the Church celebrates Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem to accomplish his Paschal Mystery. Accordingly, the memorial of this event is included in every Holy Mass with the procession or the solemn entrance before the Mass.
Our wonderful daily lives can be only express by our worship of God our Creator. By Palm Sunday we praise our Lord Jesus Christ, we call him Holy Son of David and King of Israel. We give him the worship of God to make Him equal with God Creator for his work of our Salvation.
During this Holy Mass we will hear the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to St. Mark. We have to find ourselves in that story of salvation because our sin is the purpose of this event and our own role is very important in the whole economy of Salvation.
The Holy Mass which we now celebrate is the Paschal Mystery of Jesus and ours therefore we need to be present on that event.

5th SUNDAY OF LENT
March 24th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink
We celebrate the 5th Sunday of Lent – the Passion Sunday. Today more like in any time we realize what mean, that unless a grain of wheat dies, it produces much fruit. We saw Jesus who headed for his own dead with great determination, because he knew that this is for the freedom of all of us. This example is very meaningful. In our struggle we fight for our own freedom from the sin, to be the citizens in the Kingdom of God.
The Eucharist which we now celebrate is once again the participation in the safety dead of Christ on the Cross, the participation in the Hour of Jesus. We know that our salvation is only by the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Mass is the great thanksgiving for that.

1st SUNDAY OF LENT
February 25th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink
The new period of the Liturgical Year of Lent we started on Ash Wednesday. This period is very important for us because in this time we prepare ourselves by reflection and penance to the great feast of our salvation, which is Easter. Each year God gives us this season when we prepare to celebrate the paschal mystery – the transition from death to the fullness of life in Christ.
The Eucharist is the strong power for our discipleship, in which we learn more about the power of fasting, praying and almsgiving. These three things will accompany us during the Lenten season. They are the three things, which characterize the real spirit of penance, so close to us in Lent.

7th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
February 18th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink
The Ordinary Time is for us the simple guidance of the daily moments of our lives.
This Sunday gives us the example of being simply the good friend to our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is very easy to be the anonymous brother or sister to someone. It is very difficult to be the real friend, because the best friend is the person who knows you and helps you in the time of need.
Today we are going to Church for the Eucharist to meet Jesus who heals our body and soul. But we need the real friends who will introduce us to Jesus and who will carry us before his face. Because we are sick before God /as a paralyzed man from today’s gospel – we have sinned. And we need someone who will carry us to Jesus and who will surmount (przezwyciezac) great obstacles on our way to Jesus. We need the healing grace of God like air for life. And this is the main function of the community of the Church to bring us to Jesus. We can help each other in this duty very well…but we only have to want.

2nd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
January 13th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink
We start once again the Ordinary Time which is the special period when we receive teaching concerning ourselves, because Ordinary Time is our time in the whole History of Salvation. Today we have a call like Andrew and the other disciple, John. We need to recognize and to realize this call as the voice of God who speaks directly to us. We have to go and make disciples for God, make our relatives and friends the company of Jesus Christ – this is the simple task of the Church as a community of believers.
The Eucharist, which we now celebrate is our help: from one side there is the explanation of the word of God and from the other the real meal to help us to do the will of God in our own lives.

John the Baptizer came “so that all might believe through him.” (1:7b) Through him, the first believers came to Christ.
