Today we celebrate the 7th Sunday of Easter and the Feast of Ascension of the Lord.
The Solemnity of Ascension of the Lord is for us the direction for our own lives, that we will be in the future in heaven with God the Father. But we have the task to do during our earthly lives. To be the disciples of Christ who evangelize the other people especially non-Christians. To be the disciples of Christ who make the commandment of love truly alive in the modern world.
The Mass is the remembrance of that last meeting with Christ when He sent disciples to go forward and teach the other people about the Kingdom of God. Even The Word Mass has the root in the Latin word mitto –ere – that’s mean send somebody, give someone the mission.
Today We have the same task: go and proclaim the Good News in our work area, in our neighborhood and in our surroundings. But we have to proclaim the good news of Jesus not the other fake news.

“And behold I am sending the promise of my Father upon you.”

- Try to feel the need for prayer often during the day and take the trouble to pray. Prayer makes the heart large enough until it can contain God’s gift of Himself. Ask and seek, and your heart will grow big enough to receive Him and keep Him as your own.. (Mother Teresa – A Simple Path)

One Main Point
In Jesus’ paschal mystery, God fulfills his promise to save us, who are invited to receive the Holy Spirit, collaborate with his mission, and experience joy.
Reflections
- Am I willing to be sent as witness, or martyr?
- What .nation. am I sent to? Possibly my family and my community at home, and also the marginalized around the world, particularly in this age of globalization?
- Do I take time to experience joy, like Mary, the shepherds, and other disciples of Jesus?
