Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Holy Family and also the feast of Humble Shepherds in the PNCC.
The feast of the Holy Family is very meaningful for us today. We see a lot of crises in our life which coming from the bad formed Families. Today We need new power of love for our own Families. This is the reason that the Church offers us the good example of the Holy Family, where the obedience and the love is the priority.
From the other hand we have the feast of the Humble Shepherds concentrate our caution on our mission of evangelization – to be the new apostles of Jesus Christ our Savior in our modern world.
The Eucharist is like the meeting of the shepherds with the Baby Jesus and His Mother and his Father. We are the humble shepherds we got the divine vision of angels. We hear that voice of Gloria and we follow it to the manger. Here and now in this church we can meet in person with our God and Savior.

“Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee…”

One Main Point
Jesus is the new Moses (savior for God’s people).
Moses’ story: Pharaoh killed all male Hebrew children, but Moses was saved. The young Moses killed an Egyptian and fled. When Pharaoh died, Moses returned.
Jesus’ story also has the killing of children, fleeing, and returning.
Reflections
- How did Joseph feel about the whole event?
First, having a wife pregnant by someone else; then any preparations he had made (as a carpenter, probably he made a crib and some furniture for the child) was scrapped for the trip to Bethlehem, then another tired and unexpected trip all the way to Egypt; and then a return to some place other than home for the rest of his life. (John Kavanaugh, in America Magazine.) - How did Mary feel? And Jesus? And the others around them?
- If you have experienced an ordeal of escaping for your life leaving behind your loved ones; in your position as a father, a mother or a child, what have you done to strengthen your faith or your family?
