22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

In the divine economy and our usual economy which we practice every day especially in Ordinary Time, we have to select not easy matters but more difficult, not cheap things but more expensive because our master Jesus Christ gave us this kind of example.

Jesus in today’s gospel presents us the divine method of reasoning, when he points at the cross and he rebukes Simon Peter for his human involvement in this matter.

The Eucharistic liturgy, the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, is our willing participation in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is our entrance into sharing together in the life of Jesus Christ, a life that took Him through pain, loss, suffering to death, and then to resurrection. God is here in the Mass not to bring us rescue, He is here to bring us resurrection.
