2nd SUNDAY OF LENT

transfigurationz1Today we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Lent. Lent is the period of preparation for the Great Feast of our Faith – which is the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. But it has the great meaning in our personal life – the preparation for our own Salvation  and our own Resurrection. In whole Liturgical year 2013 and in the Lent especially we try to put our  hope in our Lord. We are looking for that every day of our lives, but especially in the Lenten season. We give up the simple things to go more deeply into our spirituality. We reject the whole splendor of our surroundings to concentrate on the essence of our lives. In church we see no flowers around the altar, the sad purple color and the poor language of songs and prayers. Everything is so that we can see the real goal of our faith – God alone.

The Eucharist is the place where we encounter Jesus Christ our God and our Redeemer. He can show us his glory but we have to be awakening from the sleepiness. Every time in the Holy Mass God speaks to us, He shows us His glory; our duty is only to participate in it and to enjoy it.

¨      After Mass we will collect the donation (our almsgiving) for the poor baby. Use plain envelope in your bulletin.

¨      The Stations of the Cross – the devotion which is a very good reminder of the last moments of Jesus Christ on earth. It will take place on Saturday – 5:00 PM (March 16) and on Good Friday 6:30PM.

¨      Really thank you for your engagement in the annual meeting of the members of Holy Cross parish. Your participation is crucial and very important. God bless You.
