The First Sunday of Advent

advent-wreath-1-candles-5Today we celebrate the 1st Sunday of Advent. The Advent Season begins the new Liturgical Year 2014 which makes us closer to our salvation. The topic for the Year 2014 is: “We feel the joy of Evangelization.”. It reminds us that we need to proclaim the Gospel by our words and deeds everywhere. From the other side it gives us the real joy of being one with our Lord Jesus Christ in his Holy Church. Especially when we go for Holy Eucharist we feel that joy with our whole heart and we say thanks to God by our worship and lives. God is so good and gave us a lot of things, for that we have to say Great Thanksgiving – we do Thanks to God in the Perfect Way of following Jesus Christ.

The first period of the Church Year helps us to prepare ourselves for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This Advent we expect two comings of Jesus. First one was in the history in Bethlehem Palestine and the second coming will be on the end of the Time. For us is very important the second coming because we are just before it. At the beginning of Advent we want to be the Church watchful and ready for the second coming of the Lord. An advent wreath can help us get back the real “Spirit” of that season. Each week we light one more candle to mark our faith journey into our own Advent. Today we light the first candle which we call the candle of Hope, because Jesus Christ is our hope on the last day.
