HOLY THURSDAY – Mass Of The Lord’s Supper

upperroomWe gather here this evening…called by the Christ…to celebrate the anniversary of the First Eucharist the First Holy Mass. In every Mass we actually celebrate the same – First Eucharist, we don’t repeat it but we actively are there in upper room with Jesus to manifest it or make it present today.

Today we will hear the two accounts of the Eucharist in the Liturgy of the Word. First by St. Paul – the oldest account: reminds us the significance of this event in the life of the Corinthian community.

The second one by St. John – the latest one in the Holy Bible – presents the Sacrament of the Eucharist as a verb, an act of service, and an invitation to serve others.

Because Holy Eucharist is the Holy Sacrifice we need for this celebration the priests with apostolic succession who can perform by the command of Jesus this event. The new churches refuse the Holy Eucharist because they don’t have the institution of the priesthood and they don’t believe in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Mass.

Our organizer Bp. Hodur was very concern about the apostolic succession and appropriate priesthood in our Church. We are happy because in it every Sunday we have the Holy Eucharist in which our sins are forgiven and we can really touch and eat Jesus in the form of the holy bread and wine.
