15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

soilToday we celebrate the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Today we will hear, as usually in contemporary mass, the Word of God more abundantly, because it is for us the food for the Christian life or as Prophet Isaiah says it is like rain and snow which come down and do not return to heaven till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful.

The Word of God starts our faith because our believing starts from the good thoughts which we hear during the Mass or our private study of the Holy Bible. We have to be as a good soil from the parable of the sower to produce good fruits in our private lives.

The Eucharist is the special place where the word of God is put on the special table of the Word as a food for everyone who is there. Today we are looking at the word of God like at the small seeds, which are sowed in our minds. And after good action of Jesus during the sacrifice of the Mass we produce love – the simple reaction of our good relationship with God.

Reflections

1 Do I always act solely based on my knowledge, or do I let my heart direct me in a meek and humble way? What type of person am I?

2 What makes the relationship between the Father and the Son Jesus so close? How close is my relationship with God? How can I improve this relationship?

One Main Point

Jesus seeks out sinners and outcasts and includes them in his circle of friends. He even calls a tax collector, Matthew, to be one of his apostle.
