PENTECOST SUNDAY

Today we celebrate the Pentecost Sunday. This Sunday is the anamnesis of the beginning of the Church which was 2000 years ago. Anamnesis means remember but it is special remembering. We remind the event from the first century and we at the same time participate in it. It is miracle of our faith. This is the mystery of our faith and we know that this is our own commitment in it.

We are the Church of Christ in which the Holy Spirit has the special place. We know that with the power of this Spirit we can do everything. We are also in the time of praying for our own Polish National Catholic Church, that it will be the “New Church” – with the special power of her Holy Spirit.

The Eucharist is the place where the Church is real and visible. We pray by the power of the Holy Spirit to be more attractive Church for the people of our age.

One Main Point

The resurrected Christ confers upon his disciples, hence the Church , the mission to continue his work of bringing God’s salvation to all mankind. In order to carry on the task that he had accomplished, Jesus empowered the Church with his Holy Spirit who would be the living force and guidance in propagating God’s message.

Reflections

Visualize ourselves as the disciples in the Upper room, in a state of fearfulness and doubt about what had happened. How do we feel when Jesus appear to us?

Relive the moment when Jesus breathed his Holy Spirit on the disciples and instructed them to go out and proclaim his Good News. How do we make his love known in our world today?
