16th Sunday in ordinary TIME

Now we are celebrate the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time, which gives us the teaching of the Kingdom of God.

The Gospel is different today: “One thing only is required.” Rather than Martha’s busy hospitality, it is the word of God spoken by Jesus that takes precedence. No service to God can earn this word, for it is given to Mary gratis, because she is open and able to listen to it. It would be nonsense to reverse the obvious import of the story and ascribe greater perfection to Martha (despite the scolding she received) because she understood how to be “in action by contemplation”. Man cannot act rightly if he has not first listened to God’s word. Action must follow upon and obey this listening.

Every Sunday we are doing two attitudes of Christians life: the active attitude – the duty for our Church and the passive attitude – the praising for our Lord Jesus Christ. This is what mean to make Eucharist – the Thanksgiving present.

„Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.”

  • MY MISSION: When I am the disciple of Christ and the member of his Church I realize this and participate in all matters which concern Him. The Easter Liturgy is not my challenge it is my privilege.
  • The worship of the Church is an act—a most ancient and noble mystery—and almost nothing is gained by endlessly updating it, streamlining it, personalizing it, and altering it… Worship is not something like an automotive engine or a computer, which can be perpetually improved upon. Like marriage and family, it stands at the center of the carousel of life, if we will only return to the center and find it. —Thomas Howard from Evangelical Is Not Enough
