“Get in” – 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today we celebrate the 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time. This Sunday gives us the next step to our participation in the group of Christians. We have to be the good and smart disciples. We must offer our life to Jesus Christ; we have to open our mouth and our attitude for the other people – our neighbors. We must give the real witness of our own beliefs before them.

Today’s world needs the wise witnesses, because in it is too many different informations. The testimony of truth is very important. This testimony could be bring by the good kind of advertising, when the people see and hear the real witness of discipleship. Especially here in US more people go behind of somebody’s recommendations than on some very colorful advertisements or junk mails.

In the community of the Church the Holy Mass is the sure place where we meet for real Jesus Christ in his body and spirit, we learn about his teaching in the liturgy of the word and we have a force to do it by the holy meal in the liturgy of the Eucharist.

“You are the light of the world.”

One Main Point

Disciples have a mission to bring out the best in the whole world. When this gospel was written, Jesus’ followers were being persecuted, yet they still participate in Jesus’ mission to save the world.

Reflections

  1. Do I salt and light up the world? What good work do I do?
  2. Salt and fire are not good by itself, but bring out the good in others. Do I?
  3. When I do good work do I “glorify Father in heaven” or myself?
