24th Sunday in Ordinary Time; 19th Anniversary of 9/11

Today we celebrate the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time and also we had on Friday the 19th Anniversary of 9/11.

In our present Time we realize that all we are brothers and sisters and our every day rule is to love each other and to forgive. Love is the consequence of the looking on others by our own perspective. I need the help in my time of existence. Christ Jesus came into the world to save me and others too. And this is the Good News for all of us. Because we can find ourselves in the group of people whom Jesus loves and forgives. The Eucharist is the special meeting with Jesus for all who are brothers and sisters. We come to Jesus to praise him and to become holy by his grace. This is the simple aim of our every Sunday coming to the Church.

„His master handed him over to the torturers.”

One Main Point

If one wants mercy from God, be merciful to others. If one exacts justice from others, expect the same from God.

Reflections

  1. Position yourself as one of the three persons in the parable: the king, the servant, or the fellow servant. What do you hear? How do you feel? What is your reasoning in each encounter?
  2. What is the main motive to forgive? Why do I have to forgive always? What do I gain or lose when forgiving?

A PRAYER FOR AMERICA – On the 19 Years Anniversary of 9/11

Almighty God, You have given us this good land as our heritage. May we always remember Your generosity and constantly do Your Will. Bless our land, guide our president, Donald John Trump, and the leaders of our government; grant them courage and prudence during these times. Save us from violence, discord and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil course of action. Make us who came from many nations with many different languages a united people. Defend our liberties and give those entrusted with our governance the spirit of wisdom that there might be justice and peace in our land. In this difficult time do not let our trust in You fail. We ask all this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

R: Amen.
