Joy – 3rd SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Today we celebrate the Third Sunday of Advent. This Sunday we call rejoicing Sunday, or Sunday of JOY, because we are very close to the meeting with Jesus in the feast of Christmas, (for that reason we use the pink color for the liturgy, we light the pink candle in the Advent Wreath too.)

In the Gospel area this Sunday continues the example of John the Baptist from the last Sunday. It gives us the example not only for searching in our life for God, but mainly to recognize the Lord Jesus in our own lives.

The Eucharist is the place where we recognize Jesus as our Messiah who is among us and we identify ourselves as Christians – his followers. We take Jesus to our lives and we go to the people who do not recognize him to share with them our own faith.

„I baptize with water; but there is one among you whom you do not recognize.”.
