THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD 2nd SUNDAY of Easter

Put your finger here…
…but believe.

Today we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Easter. On this Sunday we have the explanation of our goal for going to the Church every Sunday. It is the reason to be in the community of believers to meet risen Jesus who is alive and who gives us the Holy Spirit with His peace. For that we need the faith given by God/ which will be making us the image of our Lord in the contemporary world. Today we need especially peace in our lives. We see many dangers in our surroundings. We need the power to overcome it. And we see today that the only power to save us is Jesus Christ and his resurrection.

The Eucharist, which we now celebrate, is the same Eucharist which the disciples of Jesus celebrated on that first day of the week and the week after, when Jesus came and said to them “Peace be with you”. This Eucharist is the power for us to believe in the resurrection of Jesus and our own resurrection after our death. We have only to confess as St. Thomas said “My Lord and My God”.

“Thomas answered…, ‘My Lord and my God!’”
