21st SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Today we celebrate the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Ordinary Time, when we have more time to think about the truth of our faith, gives us also the opportunity to exempt ourselves from the participation in the gathering on the Eucharist on the Holy Mass. We have more reasons to absolve ourselves, sometimes we pin the blame on the difficulties of the teaching of the Church and our lack of the understanding.

But true faith needs our involvement and boundless commitment to Jesus Christ, simply saying we need to choose the Lord, because in the personal relationship with him and in the confirmation of that relation by the community of the Church we have the power to trust God and meet Him personally in that building.

“No one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father.”

  • “If my will is meant to perfect its freedom in serving another will, that does not mean it will find its perfection in serving every other will. I fact, there is only one will in whose service I can find perfection and freedom. To give my freedom blindly to a being equal to or inferior to myself is to degrade myself and throw away my freedom. I can only become perfectly free by serving the will of God” (Thomas Merton – No Man is an Island)
  • MY MISSION: When I am the disciple of Christ and the member of his Church I realize this and participate in all matters which concern Him. The Ordinary Season and the Sunday’s Masses are not my challenge but my privilege.
