3rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Today we celebrate the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. This Sunday focuses our caution on the credibility of the Gospel of St. Luke. The author tells us that in his Gospel he wrote everything that he already knew, and everything that he could collect, about the life of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, using information, great and small, that the Christian community gave him.  Everything that he collected he placed in one book, describing all that was true about the life, passion and death of our Redeemer.

In the beginning of Ordinary Time – the period in which we consider the life and actions of Jesus we have the first manifesto of Jesus in the Synagogue in Nazareth in his hometown.

The Eucharist is the one moment when we meet Jesus and we can listen to His words. Jesus manifests today that he is the messenger of the good news to the poor. Our duty today is to hear the Word of God and after this go and proclaim the good news to all people who are really poor.

“The eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him.”

Welcome Our Visitors

We welcome all our visitors who are present with us for worship this Sunday! Please introduce yourself to the Pastor after Mass. Please write your names in the guest book located in the vestibule of the church. Please remember that you are always welcome to join us in worship at Holy Cross Church.

I must take time to come into God’s presence, to feel my weakness and my need, and to renew my fellowship with Him.
