SOLEMNITY OF THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD (THREE KINGS)

Today we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord – Three Kings. This is the Solemnity when God reveals His deity to us and to the whole World.

We see this incredible scene in the picture of three wise men – Magi or Kings, who were seeking God and they found him in the small baby in the manger at Bethlehem.

This behavior of three wise men which in the polish tradition we name them Kacper, Melchior and Baltazar is very close to every person who wants to find Jesus Christ in his or her own life.

Therefore, in the polish tradition we mark the door of our home with their names to remember that when we exit our home, we are on the pilgrimage to find our Lord Jesus Christ on the way through our own lives.

The Eucharist which we now celebrate is like the bus stop on our way to haven where we see our goal – Jesus Christ and after Holy Mass we try to bring him into our life by the commandment of the love to each of our neighbors.

“They prostrated themselves and did him homage.”

Announcements

  • Thank you for your donation on Christmas. Thanks for the cookies for Carolers.
  • Thank you for your help on Christmas Food Sale. God bless you.
  • After Epiphany Feast will be the Pastoral Visit – Kolęda and blessing of the homes.
  • Evangelization is in no small part about accessibility. Make your parish accessible; make the extra effort. Like the young Samuel, let your first priority be a basic one: Open the temple doors.
  • As for freedom it grows no greater by being wasted, or spent, by it is given to us as a talent to be traded with until the coming of Christ. In this trading we part with what is ours only to recover it with interest. We do not destroy it or throw it away. We dedicate it to some purpose, and this dedication makes us freer than we were before. Because we are freer, we are happier. (Thomas Merton – No Man is an Island)
  •  My Warmly Thank You to all of the people who remember of me and my family by the presents and the donations. Be sure that you are in my prayers before the Alter.

One main Point

THE REVELATION OF GOD TO THE WORLD.
The Magi from around the world search for Jesus and pay him homage, while Herod only pretends to do so. At the beginning of the Gospel, these Gentile Astrologers point to the conclusion of the Gospel, when the disciples pay Jesus homage, and Jesus told them to “make disciples of all the Gentiles.” (28:17-20)
