THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD – EASTER SUNDAY

Jesus’ Tomb inside, today

Today we celebrate the Easter Sunday. It gives us the simple direction what we have to do as Disciples of Christ. We have to be the witnesses of the Christ’s life, death and resurrection.

First of all, we have to hear about the resurrection of Jesus from our parents, priests and friends. Secondly, we have to meet Jesus on our own way of life as Peter and the other disciple encountered Jesus after they check the empty tomb and meet Him in the evening of that first day of the week.

The Eucharist is the simply and surly way to meet Jesus in our own lives. Here and now, we hear the Word of resurrected Jesus, we break the bread and wine, as the token of our future eternal life and we share our faith with the others, and we touch the real Jesus in the Holy Communion. In this situation we need only to believe that these things are true and real for us. We have to believe, as John did, that these things concern us and only us in particular.

“I arose, and I am still with you.”

Reflections

1 Imagine that you standing in front of the empty tomb and looking in, what does the tomb look like? Is it foul? What do you see?
