14th Sunday in ordinary Time; INDEPENDENCE DAY

Today we celebrate the 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time and Independence Day tomorrow. We are the people of God who realize our discipleship of Christ in our private lives. We also realize our freedom that we are one nation under God, and we can do everything together, but we have to every time stand united especially with God and our neighbors.

Today’s gospel focuses our eyes on the mission of the laity. That every member of the Church ordained and non-ordained supposed to be the missionary with the great power to care for the sickness of body and soul.

The Eucharist is the special call of Jesus. We have to realize this and follow the message and the attitudes of Jesus Christ our Master and Lord. We need only to go with great faith in Him and do the deeds which are coming from our belief.

„The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few.”

The first step in the interior life, nowadays, is not, as some might imagine, learning not to see and taste and hear and feel things. On the contrary, what we must do is begin by unlearning our wrong ways of seeing, tasting, feeling, and so forth, and acquire a few of the right ones. (Thomas Merton – No Man is an Island)

Welcome Our Visitors

One Main Point

The disciples are successful because they are instruments of God’s grace. That is the real reason for rejoicing.

Reflections

  1. How does Jesus ask you to spread the Gospel in the world today? What obstacles do you see in your path? What do you need to overcome these obstacles?
  2. Have you ever felt like a lamb walking among wolves? What did you learn from those experiences?
