28th Sunday in Ordinary Time & Christian Family Feast

Today in the Gospel we have the beautiful picture of the parable of the wedding banquet. The example of the banquet in the theology of the Church immediately associates with the Eucharist, which is the Great Supper of our Lord and King Jesus Christ. Everyone is invited by God to celebrate this Supper; but so many people refuse the invitation because of something else most important to do. We accepted the invitation and are on the banquet right now but we have to be in proper garment of our good deeds as Christians.

The Eucharist which we now celebrate is a foretaste and an anticipation of the Messianic Banquet, which will be like the wedding banquet, according to today’s parable. We have to prepare for it by our every Sundays Masses.
