2nd SUNDAY OF LENT

transfigurationToday we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Lent. Lent is the period of preparation for the Great Feast of our Faith – which is the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. But it has the great meaning in our personal life – the preparation for our own Salvation  and our own Resurrection.

In whole Liturgical year 2016 and especially in the Lent season we put our whole hope in the Lord Jesus Christ who can rebuild our parish. We are looking for that every day of our lives, but especially in this holy season of penance. We give up the simple things like good food, money and our talkativeness to go more deeply into our spirituality. We reject the whole splendor of our surroundings to concentrate on the essence of our lives. In church we see no flowers around the altar, the sad purple color and the poor language of songs and prayers. Everything is so that we can see the real goal of our faith – God alone and make our private covenant with Him.

The Eucharist is the place where we make the covenant with our God through our Redeemer Jesus Christ. He can show us his glory but we have to be awakening from the sleepiness of our sins. Every time in the Holy Mass God speaks to us, He shows us His glory; our duty is only to participate in it with our eagerness.
