19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today we celebrate the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time. The meaning of this Sunday is very special for us, because in today’s gospel we can look at the important things of our Church. We look at Jesus, who is the Son of God able to redeem us. We look at the Church, which is like the boat in the agitated sea. We look at ourselves and we see the same behavior as St. Peter did – the desire to be with our Lord on the wavy surface of our faith.

The Holy Eucharist is like the scene on the sea. We pray, we are in community with others and we meet Jesus. Some times we are afraid of him, some times we request the walking on the sea and we are similar to St. Peter, who walked on the sea and became frightened and began to sink, but in this moment we can cry out as he did: Lord, save me! And we will get the helping hand of God.
