2nd SUNDAY OF LENT

Today we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Lent. Lent is the period of the preparation for the Great Feast of our Faith – which is the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. But it has the great meaning in our personal lives – the preparation for our own Salvation and our own Resurrection.

In whole Liturgical year 2019 and especially in the Lent season we realize that we are God’s Family. We are looking for that every day of our lives, but especially in this holy season of penance. We give up the simple things like good food, money and our talkativeness to go more deeply into our spirituality into the mystical. We reject the whole splendor of our surroundings to concentrate on the essence of our lives. In the church we see no flowers around the altar, only empty vases, the sad purple color and the poor language of songs and prayers. Everything is so /that we can see the real goal of our faith – God alone and make our private covenant with Him.

Every time in the Holy Mass God speaks to us, He shows us His glory; our duty is only to participate in it with our eagerness.

Announcements

  • We start the Lent. In that season we learn more about the power of fasting, praying and almsgiving. These are three great works of charity which can help us to prepare ourselves for Resurrection of our Lord and our own resurrection.
  • Do you have anyone of any reason (for example: someone in Hospital) or life event you would like to pray for – Please ask and see Fr. Andrew.
  • As the members of our Church we are responsible for our future and we will pray and look for the new active members of our Community of Holy Cross in Baltimore, MD.
  • Please check the Blog of our web site: www.holycrosspncc.org
  • Thank you for your participation in the annual meeting of the members of Holy Cross parish. Your commitment is crucial to  the spiritual and material life of our Church. God bless you.
  • Grace is primarily God’s universal self-communication, not the sporadic bestowal of certain divine gifts, and all human beings are the addressees of this communication. Therefore, all truly human activity is a free, positive or negative, response to God’s offer of self—the grace at the heart of human existence. Because God offers nothing less than God’s very own self to everyone, the human person is, to Rahner’s way of thinking, “homo mysticus”, mystical man.(Karl Rahner – God’s universal self-communication)
