8th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today we celebrate the 8th Sunday in OT. This last Sunday before the Lent gives us some small sentences of wisdom from our Master Jesus.

Our faith helps us to understand Jesus Christ. It is an adult faith. It brings us many struggles and conflicts of conscience. But it has borne fruit in our lives, and this is undoubtedly good fruit. Because of our faith we know that we are now much better people than we would ever have been without it.

The Eucharist which we now celebrate is the real meeting with our Lord Jesus. Here and now we participate in the eternal wisdom of God and we mirror our life in it.

Announcements

  • Thank you for your participation in the annual meeting of the members of Holy Cross parish. Your commitment is crucial to  the spiritual and material life of our Church. God bless you.
  • If our parishioners and community members are not able to give a  clear and simple “yes” to the invitation of the Gospel, then we must ask ourselves if conversion is really taking place. As Evangelist, we need to look beyond creating positive experiences and commit to a clear intention: to call forth true consent, instead of mere theoretical approval or sentimentality. Andre Regnier
  • As the members of our Church we are responsible for our past and future and we will pray and look for new active members of our Community of Holy Cross Church in Baltimore, MD.
  • The Russian cosmonaut who, upon soaring into the heavens, radioed back to earth the news that he had found no trace of God, was simply speaking nonsense. God is neither sequestered in any particular space nor discoverable among a collection of cosmic objects. (Robert Barron – Catholicism)
  • Ash Wednesday Mass will be on Wed. Mar. 6, 2019 at 7:00PM. We will start by that the Lent Season.
