23rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME; Labor Day

Today we celebrate the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. This Sunday gives us the example of the man who was deaf and mute, and Jesus heals him. Today’s Gospel reminds us that we are all in the same position in relation to God and to others. We need people who can lead us to the Church and to Jesus. We need the healing meeting with our Lord by his ritual and after this we need to be the messengers of the Good News to the other people. This is our way to be the Christians in our surroundings, city and our country.

The Eucharist is the real encounter with Jesus Christ. This meeting can heal our body and soul as Jesus heals the man who was deaf. We need only to believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Church, which is the real preserver of the will of God through the ages.

“Ephphatha! – that is, ‘Be opened’”

  • MY MISSION: When I am the disciple of Christ and the member of his Church I realize this and participate in all matters which concern Him. The Ordinary Season and the Sunday’s Masses are not my challenge but my privilege.

One Main Point

Jesus is the Savior who heals and liberates His people

Reflections

  1. How has Jesus touched me, healed me, and liberated me?
  2. Do people see in me a reflection of Jesus’ love and freedom, or something else?
