17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today we celebrate the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time. In our Gospel reading we have the next several, very short parables about the Kingdom of God.

The believers – the people who seek the Kingdom of heaven, who want to achieve the supreme good /must be like lottery players, or like gamblers. They have to put all of the money on one card – like the person who bought the field with the treasure or the merchant searching for fine pearls.

We are these kinds of people, when our own lives have only one direction:  the Kingdom of God – that’s mean the close relationship with Jesus Christ.

Every Eucharist is to put our relationship with Christ in fact. By the Holy Mass we glorify God and from Him we get the happiness for our lives.

“The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field…”

Announcements

  • Thank you to everyone who helped with the Polish Summer Food Sale at Holy Cross.
  • As the members of our Church we are responsible for our future and we will pray and look for new active members of our Community of Holy Cross in Baltimore, MD.
  • Do you have anyone of any reason (for example: someone in Hospital) or life event you would like to pray for – Please ask and see Fr. Andrew.
  • MY MISSION: When I am the disciple of Christ and the member of his Church I realize this and participate in all matters which concern Him. The Sunday’s Masses are not my challenge but my privilege and my eternal hope.
  • In Holy Communion, my union with Jesus is so intimate and incomprehensible that even if I wanted to describe it in writing I could not do so, because I lack the words..(See Diary #735).
