5th SUNDAY OF LENT

March 16th, 2013 § 0 comments § permalink

Today we celebrate the 5th Sunday of Lent. The Lenten season is coming to the end. The next Sunday – the Palm writing in the sandSunday will start the Holy Week which is the part of the feast of Easter. We will consider the main important mysteries of our faith in that whole week.

Today we cover the crosses in the church to take it out of our eyes and to find it in our hearts. To open our spiritual eyes on Jesus Passion in our sinful perspective, as we will see in the Gospel the judgement of Jesus over the woman who was catch in adultery.

The Eucharist is the same meeting with Jesus as the sinful woman took place 2000 years ago. We are in position of that woman, we are the sinners, and we are release of the sins after that meeting. But we have to recognize our sins and accept them.

4th SUNDAY OF LENT

March 9th, 2013 § 0 comments § permalink

Rembrandts-The-Return-of-the-Prodigal-Son1-812x102411Today we celebrate the 4th Sunday of Lent. This time of joyful preparation for the feast of Easter focuses our eyes on the spirit of repentance. We all are the sinners, maybe sometimes we look nicer from outside, than others, but in the examination of conscience we can find our real sins. We need to stand in humility (pokora) before ourselves and says to God: “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son”. But these words have to be first of all accepted by ourselves. And be the first sign of our conversion to God.

The Eucharist is the time when we stand before our God the Father and say that we are sinners. We find in that meeting the echo of the parable of the prodigal son – and we see the image of the both sons in our own manners. We have only to find the short way to our Father and immediately be with Him in His house.

3rd SUNDAY OF LENT

March 3rd, 2013 § 0 comments § permalink

Parable-of-the-Fig-TreeToday we celebrate the 3rd Sunday of Lent. The Lent season is the time when we realize by our deeds of repentance and the deepest prayer that we are lucky, because nothing bad was happen to us. We see in our surroundings that some misfortune or disaster was happen to the other people. We look on that matters and we see that God is very good for us, because He cares for us.

The Eucharist is the great prayer of thanksgiving to God for His heavenly care. When we realize that God is really our good Father who gives us the only good things in our lives we have to go before His face and give Him thanks. We have to find the proper time and be in the Church for that special service.

1st SUNDAY OF LENT

February 17th, 2013 § 0 comments § permalink

300px-Temptations_of_Christ_(San_Marco)Today we celebrate the 1st Sunday of Lent. The Lent Season is the time of joyful preparation for the feast of Easter, the anticipation of our own Resurrection. The Lent is the time when we concentrate on our own integrity as a person who is both spiritual and physical. By the deeds of Lent which are: fast, almsgiving and prayer we are looking in our inside to find our communion with God, to find our private sanctuary between us and God.

Each Eucharist is the remembrance of the Easter. Every time when we celebrate the Mass we go on in the deepest Mystery of our Faith which are the suffering, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Therefore Lent is the time for preparation. During that season we use purple color as a typical color of the penance. We omit the Gloria and the Alleluia word during the Mass to hear the full Glory and the Joyful Alleluia on Easter Sunday. The Lent season is like the examination of the conscience during the Mass, and is good to do it.

PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD’S PASSION

March 31st, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

For five weeks of Lent we have been preparing, by works of charity and self-sacrifices, for the celebration of our Lord’s paschal mystery. Today we celebrate the Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion the first day of the Holy Week.

On this day the Church celebrates Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem to accomplish his Paschal Mystery. Accordingly, the memorial of this event is included in every Holy Mass with the procession or the solemn entrance before the Mass.

Our wonderful daily lives can be only express by our worship of God our Creator. By Palm Sunday we praise our Lord Jesus Christ, we call him Holy Son of David and King of Israel. We give him the worship of God to make Him equal with God Creator for his work of our Salvation.

During this Holy Mass we will hear the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to St. Mark. We have to find ourselves in that story of salvation because our sin is the purpose of this event and our own role is very important in the whole economy of Salvation.

The Holy Mass which we now celebrate is the Paschal Mystery of Jesus and ours therefore we need to be present on that event.

5th SUNDAY OF LENT

March 24th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

We celebrate the 5th Sunday of Lent – the Passion Sunday. Today more like in any time we realize what mean, that unless a grain of wheat dies, it produces much fruit. We saw Jesus who headed for his own dead with great determination, because he knew that this is for the freedom of all of us. This example is very meaningful. In our struggle we fight for our own freedom from the sin, to be the citizens in the Kingdom of God.

The Eucharist which we now celebrate is once again the participation in the safety dead of Christ on the Cross, the participation in the Hour of Jesus. We know that our salvation is only by the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Mass is the great thanksgiving for that.

4th SUNDAY OF LENT

March 15th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

This Sunday gives us the explanation what the love of God means to us.

In our churches and in most of our homes the crucifix is given a place of honor. Does that mean that we have to love crosses? No, but it says that we believe in our crucified Lord and that we love him dearly. He saved us by his cross and resurrection. He is the sign that God loved us so much that he gave us his only Son to bring us forgiveness and life and love. It is to Jesus on the cross that we look up for strength to bear the crosses (the sufferings) that come to us in the difficulties of life.

The Eucharist which we now celebrate is the real taste of God’s love. We gather together at the Mass with crucified Jesus. We hear his voice in readings and we eat him in the communion. God so loves us that he gives us his only Son, so we have to believe in him and we might have eternal life, but after the Eucharist we have to do the same as God did: to give love to one another.

3rd SUNDAY OF LENT

March 10th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

In the Lent we more pray, more fast and more make almsgiving. These three things of lent penance help us to understand our situation. Some times we realize our sinful position some times we are in the propaganda of our sin and we think that we are free from sins and we don’t need salvation. Today Christ is fighting against us, precisely against our sin, as He cleansed the mess from the Temple in Jerusalem. We need to make all part of our lives clear and open for Him, because he is our Savior.

The Eucharist is the place to meet Jesus in his Temple, to make the covenant with God on His 10 simple rules – the Ten Commandments. In the action of the Eucharist we hear His voice during the Word of God and we are in the communion with Him during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We have also the right of voice to say our petition.

One Main Point

Faith in Jesus: The disciples remembered what Jesus said and done, and “they believed in the scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.” (v.22).

2nd SUNDAY OF LENT

March 3rd, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

The Lenten Season is the time for our preparation for the great mystery of our faith which is the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and our own resurrection. From the beginning of the Church this time was the very special preparation for baptism, which is the same as resurrection – the journey from the death to life.

The different ways of our lives lead us through the valleys and through the mountains. Today we have the meeting with God on high. He shows us on the mountain of the transfiguration how to pray. He also shows us how to trust him by the example of our father in faith Abraham.

The Eucharist is the great event with God /as the Transfiguration was. Here and now we pray to God with the assistance of Christ, we hear also the Word of God, which is the response of God to our prayers.

1st SUNDAY OF LENT

February 25th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

The new period of the Liturgical Year of Lent we started on Ash Wednesday. This period is very important for us because in this time we prepare ourselves by reflection and penance to the great feast of our salvation, which is Easter. Each year God gives us this season when we prepare to celebrate the paschal mystery – the transition from death to the fullness of life in Christ.

The Eucharist is the strong power for our discipleship, in which we learn more about the power of fasting, praying and almsgiving. These three things will accompany us during the Lenten season. They are the three things, which characterize the real spirit of penance, so close to us in Lent.
